About Me
At heart I am a g33k. I thoroughly enjoy working with all flavors of Linux, because I am passionate about open source. I think the future is heading towards free and open source software and more people should start embracing it now. I am a firm believer in virtualizing computers. The days of having physical boxes for each server are in the past. For virtualization I have worked with VirtualBox, VMware Workstation, VMware Server, and VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi).
I appreciate every aspect of the technology field, although I especially enjoy the security aspect. I believe security should be every company's top priority. In today's world everyone's personal information is on the internet, and in order to keep a customer's trust, it's imperative their information stays safe.
My second love when I'm not in front of my computer is riding my Harley. I love the feeling of the open road.

Moodle
This was a group project done in my Project Management Class. My task during the project was to setup the eLearning system (Moodle). I set up the service on a Ubuntu VM running an Apache web server andI also setup a DNS server using Python. The Moodle login was also linked to a Microsoft Windows 2008 Server VM which hosted the logon credentials using Active Directory.

Security Tools
The final project for my Security Tools Class was to create a four layered network security perimeter. On the first outermost ring I had an Ubuntu VM running IP Tables. On the second ring, I was running Snort through a service called PfSense. PfSense is a firewall/router distribution based off of the m0n0wall project. The next layer also had an IP Tables firewall running on it as an extra precaution. The PPTP VPN was running on this layer as well. The fourth and final layer was basic security on the computers. I had Microsoft Security Essentials, Windows Firewall, and Malwarebytes running. Also, a variety of services needed to be hosted; an FTP Server, Network Area Storage Server, and PPTP VPN.
ESXi Server
After working with VMware ESXi at my previous job, it seemed like a great product for cloud virtualization. First, I built the server (specifications listed below), then downloaded, installed, and configured the ESXi software. It now hosts all of my Virtual Machines for my classes and other various Virtual Machines.
